Global Entrepreneurship Week Video

The week 15th to 21st November 2010, saw the celebration of entrepreneurship across the globe with the UK being an active participant. It was the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), and it was a week to celebrate and motivate entrepreneurial talents. It is estimated that more than 10 million people in 104 countries participated this year, and we personally like their slogan “Make a job, don’t take a job”.

In the UK, participation in the GEW was wide spread from organisations to entrepreneurs all contributing to promote and encourage the spirit behind entrepreneurship (passion, creativity, taking control, making a difference, improving lives etc). Events to promote running and setting up of businesses cannot come at a better time with the current economic situation.

The Labour Market Stats shows that unemployment is down by 0.1%, and according to Minister for Employment Chris Grayling “Unemployment is down and employment is up, which is good news. The private sector is leading the way and creating jobs and opportunities for people across the country” (http://www.hrmguide.co.uk/jobmarket/unemployment.htm).

Consequently, when the London Metropolitan University (LMU) commissioned us, to provide the video coverage of all the various events organised to promote and encourage students into entrepreneurship (as part of their Student Enterprise Programme), we thought it a privilege.

Using HD Cameras, we covered the weeks programme which included talks about ‘iPhone App’s with Milo, various events and interviews, with known entrepreneurs such as Rachel Elnaugh who spoke about the importance of GEW and how more student enterprise should get involved.

We would like to say well done to all those who have participated in some way or the other. And to those who haven’t, there is always next year. Whilst we are already looking forward to next years’ GEW, we will continue to take part in similar events over the year and therefore hope to see you at the ‘Business Start Up Show’ at Earls Court, end of this month.
